I think sometimes we spend so much time and energy wondering about the underlying messages that are being sent instead of just accepting them as they are. The consequence is we misunderstand each other often while trying to "read between the lines." Sometimes the message someone sends is simply that, the message they send. As Freud once said, "Sometimes a cigar, is just a cigar."
