Letter to my best friend (Originally posted on Facebook Feb 21, 2012)

Dear Grandma,
As long as I can remember we have shared a special bond, a kinship that is extremely rare in this lifetime. From the road trips to Yellowstone to the trips down the river on tubes, from the times of laughter so hard the tears of happiness flowed to the tender moments where comfort was offered and the tears of sorrow were swept up in your comforting embrace, from the many quiet moments just spent in each other's company to the trying times that life presented in our lives, we have been blessed to have an experience so very few will ever experience here on earth. You have made my life ever so special and blessed and for that I will always be grateful. I know that it was God above who set the stage for us to share these moments and it is to Him that I continue to offer my gratitude. You have finished your journey here on earth and have returned to be with God, your loving husband, and those who have gone before you. While I know you are no longer with me in the flesh, I know you are with me in spirit and that you will continue to be with me while I continue my sojourn in this mortal realm. I look forward to seeing you again whether in this life time or in the life to come. I love you.
