In Memorial . . .

A while back I posted a story and experience where I was able to take part in a funeral service for a young man who had given his life in the service of our country.  Not too long ago I was able to read some statements from my grandfather who served in WWII in the Navy and some of his experiences.  I have had the pleasure of participating in some Honor Flights where I was able to offer my gratitude to some of the brave men and women who have fought and served our country in order for me to continue to enjoy the freedoms I have.  Just the other day I was able to participate in a Fallen Patriot Ride where we honored our Gold Star Families and offered our support and love to those who have experienced the greatest loss we can imagine, that of a child.  I feel honored to have been a part of all these experiences and believe it has given me a greater appreciation for just how special this nation is and those who fight to protect it every day.

On this Memorial Day, I hope and pray that through all the parties, BBQs, sales, and festivities that take place across this great nation that we all can at least take a moment to stop and offer silent gratitude for the many who have gone before and served so faithfully to honor their nation and protect the freedoms we enjoy every day.  May we each take a short moment to recognize the sacrifices that have taken place in the families and homes of those who are no longer with us.

May I just offer a simple and very heartfelt Thank You to all those who have given at least a part of yourself for me.
